LJ wins the pro race by over a minute, utilizing a strong bike and 39min 10k to put some serious distance on last year's race winner. Definitely the epic-est race of the day and perhaps the year.
Matias also has a mighty race, finishing as the 2nd amateur overall, capping the race with a sub-35 10k effort on a course that can be best described as ... uh ... really really really hilly.
Andy finished 35th overall, putting in a 3min PR on the 1500m swim (20:50), but following with a poor ride and an average run (37min) for a 5min improvement over last year's Columbia time. Dirk swam side-by-side with Andy into the bike, showing their hard work this winter paid off, but wasn't feeling it heading into the run.
Michelle had a fine showing in her first triathlon in nearly 2 years, posting the best run time of all amateurs and finishing 23rd of all women including pros.

INCREDIBLE
congrats ! see her name on tv before, nice work LJ!
It should be pointed out that LJ rode one of the fastest times by a woman out on that course that I've ever seen, and that Matias went UNDER 2 hours and finished 10th overall, including beating a number of professionals. In 2001 the winning time was 2:00. For the few years after that it hovered just above or just below, so to go under 2 hours is obviously incredible. Great job all - CTR, Michelle, Dirk, LJ, Matias, Robbie - everyone except Snizzow.
In Snizzow's defense, he was hosting important video coverage of a wedding.
Ha, yeah I know - I was busting his chops a few weeks ago about missing it. I'm sure he performed exceptionally as videographer
