I want to concentrate on breaking 15 for the 5k and lowering my times in 13.1 and below. In order to do this I need to work on my turnover speed while maintaining similar mileage.

I am getting old and soon I won't be able to PR in things like the 5k anymore...so it's time to have fun.KLIMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12015334597223017162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-15899525588529669442008-04-23T12:13:00.000-04:002008-04-23T12:13:00.000-04:00Terrific prose Klim...you captured the enormity of...Terrific prose Klim...you captured the enormity of the event from a unique and intimate perspective like no other.

BUT what a colossal waste of talent it would be for you to "never" run another marathon...JARRINhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03725943089750448522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-31587106471288253892008-04-23T11:43:00.000-04:002008-04-23T11:43:00.000-04:00I never thought people could be so in touch with e...I never thought people could be so in touch with every moment. I just run the thing and have fun. I don't even wear a watch or do much analysis of mile splits and such.

I am a bit surprised you wanted the crowds to leave you alone, though.

where is the love

we love you, jake:)MAXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09394290912307873690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-55816876357862950672008-04-23T11:38:00.000-04:002008-04-23T11:38:00.000-04:00My favorite quote:A deafening symphony of estrogen...My favorite quote:

A deafening symphony of estrogen soon surrounded us.

That pretty much sums it up.RMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01079220291482067777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-22679672778354079562008-04-23T11:22:00.000-04:002008-04-23T11:22:00.000-04:00Excellent review, Jake. You've said you probably won't do another marathon, but I think one day you will want to.

If anyone needs to kill more time reading and wants to know what the next challenge is, read this.bainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15666861700164970646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-69597250671682995752008-04-23T10:59:00.000-04:002008-04-23T10:59:00.000-04:00Wow...that was great.Wow...that was great.Matt Herzoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11731250153252340541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-64549275168398110222008-04-23T10:53:00.000-04:002008-04-23T10:53:00.000-04:00Wow. It's almost another state of consciousness where you don't need words to communicate with other runners. And the irrational rage you feel towards people who are cheering and cooking burgers, seemingly harmless activities- I think we've all been there. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Jake.Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04551994775964651313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-12506225233039493472008-04-23T07:22:00.000-04:002008-04-23T07:22:00.000-04:00PS - the second picture was a huge layout in the B...PS - the second picture was a huge layout in the Boston Globe. Murphy and Dwyer can be seen fairly easily. Bain can also be seen in this version.
