The towpath and trails around here are much better than the streets, but they are still too hard for me to run on.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-61312289651467563832008-02-27T21:51:00.000-05:002008-02-27T21:51:00.000-05:00Joe - we'll either run on the towpath/trails or so...Joe - we'll either run on the towpath/trails or some streets...hard to say at this point. 75% of the time we do the former.KLIMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12015334597223017162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-25232130450863255882008-02-27T18:51:00.000-05:002008-02-27T18:51:00.000-05:00I'm out of town this weekend, but enjoy the runs.I'm out of town this weekend, but enjoy the runs.Billyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02663386940990602615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-86249813973608522942008-02-27T16:53:00.000-05:002008-02-27T16:53:00.000-05:00I've never run with you guys before, but I know so...I've never run with you guys before, but I know some of the GRC guys and I see you all at races throughout the year. Where will the 8-10 mile moderate pace run from the store go? I'm coming back from a stress fracture and am struggling with tendonitis in my foot so I'm sticking to soft surfaces for now. I'd like to get out there with you guys at some point, but maybe now is not the time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-85170913492661588352008-02-27T15:24:00.000-05:002008-02-27T15:24:00.000-05:00PR - I am always up for something new.PR - I am always up for something new.KLIMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12015334597223017162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-72308637230290677132008-02-27T15:08:00.000-05:002008-02-27T15:08:00.000-05:00I thought I'd throw out anpther option for our lon...I thought I'd throw out anpther option for our long run. Check out this route in Beltsville/Greenbelt:

http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/md/greenbelt/251473111

On its own, the loop is about 14.5 miles, which could also be shortened if necessary. For those that want to add more afterward, the run starts and finishes at Buddy Attick lake (one loop afterward, as shown on the map, would make the run 16 miles), where you can finish up on the 2k loop.

The run goes through USDA land, so some of the roads shown will be closed to traffic. There are three middle miles that will require some running on the shoulder of the road, but everything else is quiet, country roads, with a few tough hills thrown in for good measure. I have biked this many times before, and for those of you that have run or been to the GW Birthday Marathon, much of this route covers that course, so there will also be marks to take mile splits.

Thoughts?PRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09130279953377063597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-56311906906547052052008-02-27T13:42:00.000-05:002008-02-27T13:42:00.000-05:00I'm in for 17-18.I'm in for 17-18.Natehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15631761620276831658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-29010448525243124742008-02-27T10:39:00.000-05:002008-02-27T10:39:00.000-05:00I plan to run 13-15.I plan to run 13-15.KLIMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12015334597223017162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-42018259498979892292008-02-27T10:14:00.000-05:002008-02-27T10:14:00.000-05:00I will also be looking for the 15-16 range.-dylanI will also be looking for the 15-16 range.
-dylanNietzchehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03381213405365029407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-64051235880997737002008-02-26T20:09:00.000-05:002008-02-26T20:09:00.000-05:00Jason, I'll be up for 15-16.Jason, I'll be up for 15-16.christiamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15972723072167855294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-50135156539826749992008-02-26T18:06:00.000-05:002008-02-26T18:06:00.000-05:00this is a nice run, but 21 is a little long for me...this is a nice run, but 21 is a little long for me right now, and I can't figure how to shorten it to like 16-18. are there any other groups/possibilities?havegoatshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01496588855349154092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1823626532533196485.post-25398730718246408892008-02-26T15:02:00.000-05:002008-02-26T15:02:00.000-05:00Glad you're getting back in the game.
