Ok I basically have the classic version of ITB syndrome. It starts off as a dull pain and then 15 minutes into the run it becomes a sharp pain and I can only go another 15 minutes or so. So I've been icing and stretching the last few days and will have a massage on Wednesday. This is a minor setback at the beginning of my training, so it isn't like I am going to lose a ton. But I'm still not happy about this.
Get better SOON Scott. You are our "ace" come summer.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be great to have a 5-man pack right around 25 minutes at the Twilighter.
sorry boss. hang in there!
ReplyDeletedamn klim, you edge me out on the posting! I want to consult the FAT

ReplyDeleteHang in there! I know how you feel. I have a small case of IT band, and I am getting treatment for it, and I can't run much. Keep doing what you are doing for it.
ReplyDeletehave a pretty woman kiss the area that hurts and all pain will go away
ReplyDeleteMax, that's how you usually reply to my posts. Anyway, Scott, I had that last fall and almost missed the Marine Corps Marathon. I have some stretches to show you. Unlike most injuries, you won't aggrevate it by stretching really hard. Right now I have achilles tendonitis so I need to work on that.
ReplyDeleteScott, I had the operation on my IT band because the stretching did very little for me....It takes about 4 months to recover from surgery....hopefully you don't have it bad and it will pass....
ReplyDeletematt, how did it feel after the operation? Good as new?
