I may or may not be running the 8k this sunday. if not, i will take photos of folks. if i am, someone who is not running it should. If i do it i will need to borrow a digital camera. Whoever has one give me a shout. for those who can be additional photographers, let me know. also, we need crowd support. Those who are not running it and can make it, come on down and give us good cheer.
i will have singlets on sat morning at the run and at 8:15 am at the race. we can meet at the tent/table where you pick up timing chips.

I can't make it saturday- am helping at our high school track meet in the morning- and I think I may tapper it. so i'll meet you at 8:15 at the table to pick up the singlet. thanks... by the way, still time to pick your march madness teams... come one, come all.
ReplyDeleteI can't make saturday either, I'm running in a track meet near Baltimore, but I agree about snapping pictures and support... I'll be there for the National Marathon next weekend. Btw, Jason, can you pick up a small (or whatever size fits you) singlet for me?
ReplyDeleteDOES ANYONE HAVE A CAMERA?

ReplyDeleteI HAVE A CAMERA!
I even have a video camera that can be used.
i want to get a video with before an after footage.
ReplyDeleteday of the race-------
"live from DC, Georgetown Running Company Athletes prepare to take on the region's finest here on St. Patrick's Day. In the background is Jake (the Klimoholic) Klim sporting a new fluorescent yellow singlet, doing striders with his team as they prepare to do battle.
race footage. Klim is forced to withdraw due to fatigue caused by all an nighter. Jason Dwyer runs a PR of 24 minutes flat and Melissa Tanner wins the women's race in a record time of 25:50.
Post race, Steve (on the money) Money guzzles down a pint of Guinness as he celebrates the end of the race and the beginning of a day of festivities. Klim is sore at having dropped out but happy Melissa did well. Dwyer is happy as he now has his sights set on pursuing a career in running.
I can clearly amend one part of this... post race- dwyer bolts while the others mill about for hours with max telling people to stretch, but no one, including max, actually does it.
ReplyDeletei promise to make everone stretch. in fact, now that you bring it up, we can lead a great big post race "group stretch" on freedom plaza. this might be most impressive to the running faithful out there:(
ReplyDeleteThere is video of me prior to the 5k...predicting things and engaging in other tomfoolery. Will try to post.

ReplyDeleteHey guys good luck this weekend. I will be out there cheering you on. If the weather is nice you guys will fly. The course is flat and fast. I ran an 8k PR on it last year. Anyways I know all will represent. I hope some of you can make it out for National, I’m going to need the support. I just blew out my F’ing IT Band last weekend so I’m in panic mode right now and am just pretending like all things are a go. What else can I do? Dave
ReplyDeleteDave - Matias just let me off the hook so I don't need to pace him at Natl. If you need help in one of the last 10k let me know.
ReplyDeleteIf not, I plan to bring my DV camera and shoot video...hopefully put clips on the site. Either way, I'll be on the course.
dave, go to a real massage therapist twice thise week and the next for working out the IT issue. don't take it lightly as you do nont want to hurt yourself real bad during the marathon. not worth it long term.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jake but I should be good to go. The last 10K is down hill. I just hope my IT band will last that long. One favor I will ask is that do not video any of us going up Calvert Hill. I am about as graceful as a Donkey and it would be an ugly picture. Good luck this weekend!
