Saturday - I plan to head down and watch the National Marathon. Those on the sidelines last Sunday were very helpful so I want to pay you all back...what can I do to assist? I was going to hang out where DaveO suggested and watch/film/cheer/support the race from there. Will anyone else be joining me. Dave - what is that location again? After the race I'll run the Cherry Blossom course.
Sunday - I plan to run around 15, will anyone want to join me? Any of you 'thoners want to make it a 40 mile weekend? I kid, I kid....
How is everyone getting to the race start on Saturday? Start time is 7 am, too early for the metro. Is there someone who can give me a ride from the Dupont Circle area?

ReplyDeleteJake-
ReplyDeleteI can run on Sunday @ 7 or 8AM. Let me know.
-Nate
Jake, miles 3.5 through 9 of the cherry blossom course (along rock creek parkway) are part of the national marathon course, so the roads will be all yours... besides the 3000+ that plan on running the marathon.
ReplyDeleteGreat place to cheer is along the national mall since we run by three or four times... but I think the most exciting part of the course is at mile 19.5... "the Calvert Climb"... The Alp d'Huez of the race, this short but steep climb will humble us all as we make the climb towards Adams Morgan.
Near the intersection of Calvert & Connecticut.
Jake when and where should I meet you on saturday.
ReplyDeleteMy groin is pretty tight- actually limping around a bit today- so I am day to day
I'll have to look at a map...my head is spinning. I DON'T want to get there at 7am and prefer to drive. I can pick you up and you can either take metro back or drive with me.
ReplyDeleteWhere do YOU want to meet?
Nate - I probably won't run that early on Sunday. Maybe next time?
ReplyDeleteI'm up for running on sunday, preferrably sometime in the morning, but definitely not at 7 or 8am. How about an easy trail run at 9:30-10am?
ReplyDeleteI'm planning on watching the marathon. I looked online at the Spectator Guide. I might follow Viewing Station 1. Watch miles 3 and 6, then grab coffee at Starbucks, then catch mile 15. Then I'm heading down to the Scope It Out 5k to watch my sister who is running in her first 5k. If anyone is in that area, call me (703-300-4258)
