  2. WOW. Lots of familiar names and good times. Looks like a few Pacers got in ahead of our best. Jake, you should have thrown something at Bert to knock him off course.

I suppose if we ever had to square up and have a throwdown with pacers we would overwhelm them with sheer force of #s.

Can't wait to see the video. Is there some music in the background?

  6. As I watched The Departed today on HBO for the umpteenth time, I wanted to tell Peter to use that song. Via telepathy he got the message. Good job Peter!

Peter - are you going to post the quick intvu with Bert? He had some choice words to say about GRC...maybe it will fire people up...

Also, I made the bagpiper play for me on camera but then left in the middle of his tune in order to get the next shot. So, Rory Sullivan O'Connor wherever you are..."I'm sorry"!

All in all (or is it "all AND all"?) folks ran quite well especially considering how miserable the racing conditions were (hairpin turns, wicked winds and the sound of bagpipes). PR set a PR dipping under the 26 minute barrier for the first time, Philippe Rolly a couru sa meilleure course dans la mémoire récente while P. Murphy and C. Bain both dipped under 27 minutes. Dave O also returned to action. Billy Askey and Nate Timm seemed to be returning to form.

Last but not least, the omnipresent and omni-used red mesh shorts of Max Lockwood were truly missed as he sipped chicken soup under the covers somewhere in Adams Morgan. In all seriousness, get well.

Once again, good job everyone who ran.

PS - Chris Bain and I are running 18 next SATURDAY due to the 5k on Sunday...if anyone wants to join for part or all. The following Saturday I'm running 21 due to a wedding on Sunday...I hope to God someone will come with me on that run.

  9. Nice website Gtown. Good video. Thanks, Joe for pointing it out to me. Great job everyone with all those U turns.

Bert, your interview was all too revealing. Good seeing you again.

Hope to get more Howard County Striders showings at the DC area races. You guys are great competition.

  11. Thought I already posted this but it looks like it didn't take. Great race video but I would have rather had Klim racing than filming. The GRC needs to throw a jersey on Nathan Brigham ASAP or we will! It would be nice to even things out around here. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being part of the team that dominates the MD,DC, and VA roads but I don't want the races to get mundane. Until the next long run or race...take care.
