Weekend Runs

The plan was to meet at the store early on Saturday (8:30am) per the heat...there are also some people who have some things to do later in the day. Will there be anyone around to open the store this early? If not, we'll leave gear in one of our cars.

I may end up running at Patapsco State Park on Sunday morning because I'll be in Towson the previous evening. PSP has loads of trails and some nice hilly roads, but it's approx 35 mins north of DC. If there is any interest, please let me know and I can determine time/meeting location.

There may be interest in setting something up more local.

  1. I propose either the towpath or "The Line" for Sunday morning. if we are doing the towpath, I would suggest an 8:30am start due to the fact it has much less shade than RCP. What are people's preferences?

  2. I'm fine with either. My parents are in town so I'll need to run locally and early both Saturday and Sunday.

  3. My vote goes to the towpath, just to vary things from last weekend. I am looking to go 10 but I assume others will be going 15+. I am also open to an earlier start (8am or even 7:30am) if people need to get on with the rest of their Sunday.

Lock 5 worked last time, the directions should still be up if you look back a few posts.

  4. I have to run later on Sunday (12:00 or 1:00) because my little brother is here for the weekend and has an 11:00 flight home.

I realize this might be a solo effort since it's so late in the day, but I'll certainly welcome the company if anyone is around or up for it.

  5. Klim - Baltimore posse will be running at 8:30am on Sunday at Rolling Road. My plan is to do about 1:45 in Patapsco. More than welcome to join in.

  6. Peter - I could actually use a 7:30 start on Sunday morning. I'll be doing 15 miles, so I can start at 7:30 and meet you at Lock 5 at 8. Sound good? See you Sunday.

  8. Patrick & Billy, I am actually going to do 12-13 so I can meet you guys at lock 5 at 7:30am, unless you would prefer to start at a different lock. Let me know.

  9. OK - here's the plan: Jarrin will start running from his place in Dupont at 6:30 (he's doing 2.5 hrs). He will meet us at Lock 5 at 7:30 and we'll all run out and back along the canal for about 12 miles with Peter. Jarrin would like to run marathon paceish for the last 3 miles so I'll join him for that to get up to 15 miles. We'll add that on out and back from Lock 5 and I'll give Jarrin a ride home from there.

Billy - I'm not sure if you've driven to Lock 5 before... you have to be going towards DC to park there. It's a dirt/gravel lot. Here's the location:

  11. Gents - Solid, solid, run this morning. This concludes the last of my long runs prior to Traverse City and signals the start of a gentle tapper. Really appreciate everyone's help running with me (this includes everyone on this board) the last month or so to keep me honest. Hopefully on May 24th I'll have something personal to celebrate.
