A few of us are going cougar hunting in College Park tomorrow.
It's not what you think.
We are, however, running in College Park, heading to Greenbelt Park. Since there have been some wildcat sightings in College Park this week--who knows?--we may see one. The run there is a 100% shaded 6-mile loop; the plan is to leave water, etc., at the start of the loop and take some at each lap. I know for sure that Bain and I are doing three laps.

Here's the meeting place...a small access road where we can park:

What time are you running? I'd obviously most likely be running by myself if I came, but just curious. Greenbelt Park is one of my favorite spots and I've been on the lookout for that dang cougar.
ReplyDeleteNate and I were planning on running the towpath but this might be an interesting change. I'll talk to him.
ReplyDelete1. What kind of surface?
2. Time of day?
3. Carpooling?
PR – This morning Murphy spilled the beans on this jaunt so Diego, Billy, Geir and I are in.
ReplyDeletePete – Billy’s planning to be in Dupont at my place at 7:45am and then driving up with me. If you could be there at that time also (Corner of 20th and R Streets – 2 blocks north of the Circle) you can come with us.
Billy – Drive up to my hood and then I’ll direct you from there…
We’ll all leave at 7:45am to chase some cougar…

Thanks Robert, I will be there early in case of any Metro snafu.
ReplyDeleteOf course you will Peter...
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't put this on the post earlier. Our plan was to run at 9:00, so 7:45 may be a pretty early rendezvous.
ReplyDeleteIf you'd rather go earlier, that's cool...just post in on here.
Robert, I'll go whenever you and Billy want to. I personally would like to go as early as is mutually agreeable as we will be running under the hot sun for 2+ hours.
ReplyDeletePatrick, if you and Bain are looking to go longer than 18, I would like to try for 20.

Robert, I think we can meet at your place a little later than 7:45 (maybe 8:15?) - it should only take about 30 mins to get out there per google maps. A 9 am start is fine conmigo.
ReplyDeleteOk...so we've all agreed 8:15am my place. We're now plus one with Matias (driving himself) and minus one with Bain (emergency trip out of town - I will elaborate later).
ReplyDeleteShaping up to be an epic hunt.
