Reaves, Bain, and I are planning to do a long run at Greenbelt Park on Sunday at 10.
Some of you may remember this run from August, when Reaves introduced us to his favorite college stomping grounds - a place where he learned to live in harmony with the Cougar. Unfortunately for our friend Jarrin, the Cougar was on the prowl and looking to strike. After that eventful run, a survelince video from the Univ. of Maryland caught the Cougar on tape, where it was determined to be nothing more than a large ferral cat.
All are welcome to join us Sunday morning for this long run. It consists of several loops of a 6 mile trail so everyone can trim or extend this run as necessary. Here are directions to the parking lot where we will meet.
Reaves, why did you assume a cougar of all creatures? Are you into older women? :p
ReplyDeleteThis is where the cat was first identified as a cougar:

This was a great run. It was so hot & humid, we stopped for gatorade after each 6 mile loop, 3 stops in all.
ReplyDeleteI am working tomorrow at noon so will not be able to make it. I'm doing a 60min run from c&o mile marker/lock 5 at 8am if anyone else needs to run early.

I'll be there.

Wow...memories. That was indeed an awesome run; albeit a destroyed knee/hip and partially tearing my plantar off it's foundation. I'll be there in spirit!
ReplyDeleteI came back yesterday, so ill be there, but two loops is enough for me...
ReplyDeletehow is the footing? debating coming, but battling a left ankle that keeps rolling on softer terrain.
ReplyDeleteI'll be good for 9-10.
This may be too late for you to decide, Neal, but the footing is generally good for a trail. That said, a trail is a trail. It's probably similar to some of the Archibold Glover Park trails or slightly better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I'll stick to the roads for another week.
