A few of us have bandied about the idea of a GRC Inaugural Ball tomorrow night at the Georgetown store around 8. It's perfect for those of us who have been forced to turn down invitations to the more fancy, pretentious affairs. Please post a reply so that we know how many might be interested. Gentlemen would be encouraged to wear ties, ladies dresses.

How are people planning on getting there? I assume Metro will be inundated and the roads will be gridlocked.
Also, who else is braving the cold to go to the Mall for the swearing in/parade?
I'll be there. I hear the Obamas will be attending all 10 "Official" balls and maybe even several "unofficial" balls... I'll make sure he knows about our shindig when I see him tomorrow ;)
I'll be heading down to the Mall tomorrow. If anyone wants to join me I would suggest coming and staying with me tonight... it's going to be very difficult to meet people downtown.

How late will this event last? I'm in town for the inauguration & it would be great to stop join in this event.
Good questions one and all. Clearly this plan needs a little fleshing out:-). Hopefully some of the traffic will have cleared out by nighttime so people can drive. Other suggestions for transportation are welcome though. As for how late it will last, I guess that depends on how long we're welcome at the store. If you're thinking of arriving past 10 or so I suggest giving the store a call to confirm that people are still there.
P.S. There have been rumblings that Adrian Fenty will be making an appearance.
