Wednesday Workout

Dickson and I were planning to run 3 miles on the track or on the CCT at half marathon pace. There was some talk about others joining in on this workout and then hitting some 400s afterwards. Anyone interested? I am leaving work at 5:45. Metro-pending, I should be at B-CC at 6:30pm. If not, commence the warm-up without me and I'll warm-up on the track.

  1. It would be cool to get on a track. Wish I could offer up a convenient option ... That or CCT again.

  2. We could run on American U's track. Plan could be to meet either at the track or people are welcome to meet at my place (cleveland park) and jog about 2.2 miles to the track as a warm up.

  3. I'd be game for going to American if we were sure we could use the track. Is it easy to park there or take the red line?

  4. i'd be up for going there, too. don't pacers work out there?

  5. Am. U is not terribly convenient to Red Line, over a mile walk from the nearest stop. Solution: get off at Cleveland Park metro, toss stuff at my place and warm up to the track. I am not sure about parking, track generally seems available in the late evenings, not sure about light situation etc. We would be flying blind on this option but it could work.

  6. I forgot that I have Back-To-School night at my school wednesday night... so i unfortunately am no game. I am doing a repeat 1000 workout tonight at Clarksburg (up past Germantown)... I know most are working out tomorrow but anyone that wants in is welcome.

  9. I fear we could get booted from AU.

Why not stick to B-CC? Is it for fear of a game/practice on infield?

  11. guys, I'm definitely in, what's the final decision on location??

  12. No, wow, we must have typed each post at the same time! Thanks for clarifying!

STANDBY - I am confirming, from an "inside source", if AU (or Pacers) will be on their track at 6:30pm tomorrow.

Assuming it is free, I will be metroing from work and I will have all my stuff with me so don't want to drop it off in C Park and run over. Will anyone be driving past any of the red line metro stops en route to AU? I could hop out and tag a ride - at Cleaveland Park, AU, Friendship Heights etc). Karl - can you give me a lift home?

    Got to love logistics...

  13. UPDATE: I was told "we should be okay" with using it. "The track team won't be using it and there are no soccer games"

  14. I can plan on driving, so I can try to pick people up.

  15. I'm a little confused... so are we definitely meeting at the AU track at 6:30?

We should update this blog post and the 'weekly workouts' info on the main blog.

  16. I don't want to confuse everyone for this week, but we should use Walter Johnson sometime. I ran there tonight and the track is spongy (not fast but good for working out) and there is light from the tennis courts in one corner of the track. No stadium or lights on the field so no game conflicts either. Convenient from red line (Grosvenor) because its a nice 1.5M run from the metro to the track. We should keep that in mind!

  17. Oh yeah, lots of parking too.

  18. Yes, AU Track at 6:30PM this week due to unforeseen events at B-CC.

DM - thanks. Which metro stop is easiest for you? What time?

  19. For me I actually think Tenleytown would be easiest. 6?

  20. I meant Tilden Middle Schhol on my earlier suggestion, not Walter Johnson: 11211 OLD GEORGETOWN RD, ROCKVILLE
