I just read Jake Klim's running blog and his latest post is called "the Comeback". Jake, what are you coming back from? A week off?
Try taking two months off and just enjoying having no routine or forced impetus to run and push the bod.
I have taken three weeks off and will take more. Not really because I want to but rather to see what time off of years of physical exertion will do to heal the body/mind and soul.
the body is far more powerful than the mind and it needs so many nutrients to not only survive but thrive.
Sit on a beach, look at the sun and soak up the best that life has to offer is sometimes the best way to live. In other words do nothing and enjoy it.
Life/Like running, has so many dimensions
signing off from the stars

ReplyDeleteI've thought about ignoring this post, as perhaps would be the wisest thing to do. But I don't think that's fair to any of us who look to this blog for support and encouragement, or to simply learn about the time and place of a group run, or to the casual readers who drop in out of curiosity or because they are interested in joining us, a running group. It's posts like this that degrade the integrity of the blog and of the team/group as well. Commenting on other people's separate, personal blog postings in this public forum is inappropriate, and dispensing unsolicited advice of a pseudo-mental health variety disguised as athletic guidance is just ludicrous. Please consider your audience more carefully, and save your personal attacks/dispensation of advice of this sort for some other medium, like a direct email.
ReplyDeleteI love comebacks. I love Rocky. Not so much a Farve fan, LOVE Lance comeback, epic. Klim Komeback, now that could be epic. www.projectkk.com, godaddy that shiz
ReplyDeletePS well played Shannon, well played. My favorite was "dispensing unsolicited advice of a pseudo-mental health variety disguised as athletic guidance is just ludicrous."
ReplyDeleteShannon must be some sort of English major.
I don't even think 2 months is quite comeback material...spoken from my current state!
