Runs this Week

I am heading to the track on Wednesday evening. I wouldn't mind doing 4 x 1600m (400 rest) slightly cutdown, but I am open to suggestions. Any takers?

I propose THE LINE on New Year's Day (Friday)...a late(r) start - 10am.

I will be at the Store on Saturday and plan to hit up Riley's Lock for 18 on Sunday. If anyone wants another option, feel free to post. The regular Riley's loop is 13 or 15, but you can add on via the towpath.

  2. Karl and I talked about running a progression run from the Line. I'm up for anything though. we should all do a workout together if we can.

  3. I second what Mike said. I just want to get together for the workout no matter what it is. I am game for the weekend runs too. I am hoping for a workout group from the store on Saturday.

  4. I'll be there wednesday and possibly (depending on alcohol consumption) friday as well. I'm interested in a workout saturday also.

  5. I won't be able to make it to The Line on Wednesday.

I am actually amending my w/o slightly to 3x1600m (cutdown from 5:00-5:05 down to 4:50) followed by 200m strides. I need to get my legs moving quickly before my 5k season starts.

  6. I should be there Friday at the Line as well, depending on how my legs feel from my bike workout Thursday. May be too soon for me.

  8. Jake, your training plan calls for approximatley 38-40 miles moderate to difficult runs in three days. is this smart training

  9. Jake, you mean the line on friday right? BCC track is still on for wednesday correct?

p.s. Max, let Jake off the hook, he's been training and racing PBs for the past 2 years, something very few of us can say. And all of that while still enjoying life. Plus, as the main catalyst behind the team, I think we should all be grateful for his passion for running and GRC, as we all benefit from it.

  10. No Max, my training calls for ONE difficult day (a workout on Wed), two easy days (Fri and Sat) and a long run on Sunday. This is pretty standard and even "light" compared to some. I might be tempted to join in a "B" workout with Karl et al on Saturday from the store as long as it doesn't impair my Sunday long run.

Dirk - Yes, The Line on Friday morning at 10am (New Years Day) and B-CC on Wednesday night at 6:30pm. We should have a decent group on Wednesday.

  11. I love giving jake a hard time. most of you all under 30 so you are still living off of youthful adrenaline. commentary via the blog is not meant to be taken that seriously

  14. Chuck, the line is the DC/ Maryland line in Rock Creek Park. I believe on the right side of the blog there is a section that says 'where we run' and there you can click on 'the line' which has a google maps location. Let us know if you can't find it.
