From Coach Jerry:
Congratulations to Matias for his superb performance at the Eagleman Triathlon. Andy, my triathlon consultant, assures me that he has "never heard/seen a more impressive performance at a triathlon than what Matias accomplished," and who am I to argue with a man who is so closely associated with a deep-fried happy-hour appetizer? We also had some very nice performances at the National Press Club 5k, which was more like a 5.1 k, from Laura, Kate, Susan, and Wiggy. Kate ran a PR for 5k, and considering that the course was at least 70 meters long, that is impressive indeed. We'll undoubtedly have more excellent performances this weekend at Grandmas as Sam completes the third leg of the Luff Triple Crown, and Karl and Paul get down to business, and from our designated winners in the Fathers Day 8k, Dave Burnham, Kate, and Susan.
The weather looks very favorable this week, so we can roll on Wednesday at our usual time of 7:15. The A group is going on Tuesday, and if anyone wants in on that, give me a holler. The B group will take advantage of the favorable temperatures by going 2 x mile, 2 x 800, 4 x 400. We'll shoot for 5:10, 5:05 on the miles, 2:30, 2:28 on the 8s, and 70s on the 4s, and we'll take a 400 recovery on the miles and 8s, and 200 on the 4s. I'll send the women's workout separately. See you Wednesday.
LJ's Columbia performance gets the most impressive/epic tri race of the year award.
