RACES
Congratulations to Frances for her club record 10:06.2 2 mile at the Armory Invitational, which qualifies her for the USATF indoor championship in Boston on March 1. Frances's goal going into the meet was to get a nationals qualifier, and what seemed like a sure thing at the beginning of the week became an epic struggle when the head cold she had been fighting off took a turn for the worse on Friday. Despite being far from 100 percent, Frances got after it against a national caliber field, and even with severe difficulty breathing during the second mile, she fought to the finish and got her qualifier. With the mission accomplished, Frances will take some time to get healthy, and then it's back to work as she gets ready to roll at Nationals. Well done!
WORKOUT
We caught a break on the weather and not only will the track be clear on Wednesday, it should be relatively warm, so don't miss the fun. We'll get going at 7:15 as normal, so meet for the warmup at 6:30.
Looking ahead, we will have practice on the track Saturday for those of you who are not racing on Sunday.
I'll send the women's workout separately.
See you Wednesday at BCC.
Jerry
