Hey Guys,
I know that the guys who are running this weekend may or may not go on the track, but I'll definitely be at B-CC on Wednesday. Something like 2x 1600-1200-800-400? But I'll be open to anything (like 20x200 if the indoor track runners are there and prefer that).
For those of us not quite ready to hit the indoor track, there is a low key MCRRC (approximately) 4 miler in silver spring on saturday that Andy and I plan to run, start 8 a.m. After the race, if anyone else is interested, a light swim or bike (maybe after a well-deserved visit to the bagel shop).
1-16-2010; 8:00am 4mi. "The race starts on the Sligo trail behind the Rec Center and parallels Sligo Parkway to University Ave. The race is part of our low-key club race series and is free for MCRRC members, $10 for non-members 18 and over."
Location & Directions
Sligo Recreation Center
location map: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=39.025389,-77.029272+(Shooting%20Starr)&iwloc=A&hl=en
Take I-495 to Georgia Ave/MD-97 North. Proceed north 0.9 miles on Georgia Ave. Turn right on Denis Avenue and proceed east 0.9 miles, then turn left on Sligo Parkway. The Recreation Center on the left about 500 feet north of that intersection.
I was planning to do something like 200-400-600-800-600-400-200 with 400 jog in between either if anyone is interested. I'll probably aim for 65 pace or similar effort all around. I was going to do it either today or tomorrow. I'll definitely do it tomorrow if there is company though.
ReplyDeleteI'll be at track, and I will probably do something shorter and a little faster as I did mile repeats last week. That pyramid looks pretty good. May not be able to keep your pace though.
ReplyDeleteI won't be at the Wednesday workout this week. It's a down week for me and I'm going to hit a track and just do a few 200s at goal pace whenever I can (tough week of work)
ReplyDeleteI won't be at the Saturday run b/c of the race, but I am game for 15 on Sunday...but I'll be running SLOW. Any ideas for a location?
I put the Line down for MLK Day (Monday) as Beach is always closed on federal holidays.
I'm not sure about Wednesday. I might just do a six- or seven-mile tempo on the track, and if so I may just do it at the track next door to my apartment.
ReplyDeleteAndy, if you'd like we could work something out in which we stagger the starts of the intervals so that we can run different paces but still help each other out and finish together.
ReplyDeleteI tripped on my sunday run and hurt my knees, I will be back on the track the following wednesday
ReplyDeleteI'll be in town reluctantly racing the 3k, so count me in for the Sunday and Monday runs also.
ReplyDeleteWe could always just run from the store on Sunday with the Chain Bridge loop plus the mall, Ernst loop, Hains Point, etc.
The Store doesn't open until 12noon on Sunday, but maybe someone at the run could open it?
ReplyDeleteAll the trails will be snow free by Sunday. We could do duel ferries, great falls, etc.
ReplyDeleteI would do DUEL FERRIES
ReplyDeleteI won't be at the workout tonight, but I'm interested in the 4 miler on Saturday as my first rust-buster workout.
ReplyDeleteWhatever we do Sunday, I'd like to be able to stop around 13-14 miles. How long is Duel Ferries without the add-ons?
Pat, I'm also shooting for 14 on Sunday,so I'll join you for whichever route that ends up to be.
ReplyDeleteDuel Ferries (sic) is a 10 mile loop. We usually run it twice for 20.
ReplyDeleteIf we go on Sunday, I'm only running the loop once and then will go out-and-back along the Towpath (for 15)
I will also be going 15 at most at the Ferries.
ReplyDeletefor saturday, I mapped the course and seems to be 4.41 Miles. We'll see. Good tempo run.
ReplyDeleteI would run the double loop, shooting for 20+ on Sunday, if anybody wants to join, let me know.
ReplyDeleteI'm in for the double loop too. Let's do it! See you guys Sunday. Do we have a specific meeting time and location? Maybe a new post would be best.
ReplyDeleteDuel ferries is waaayy the hell out there. We should get some carpools organized. Click on "Edwards Ferry" uner the "where we run" sidebar.
ReplyDeleteWe can met at the Starbucks Parking lot at the corner of Falls Rd/River Rd and carpool from there. We should be there at 9:15 for a 10am run.
ReplyDeleteGood plan Fox. Hopefully 10am is not too late for your stomach.
