CODE RED!

With the temperatures going over the 100 degree mark... Continue to hydrate throughout today if you are planning an evening run. Circle around and continue drinking on your run as well... I always struggle with runs after work in the excessive heat because it can be tough to remember to continue to hydrate the entire day...

Also, with the temps at the same rate (or close to it) tomorrow, I am thinking of pushing the workout this week to thursday. i am not sure if that works for anyone... I am going to do my long run on saturday (from the store?)

  1. I like both plans, though I might opt to do my long run from home Saturday. what workout do you have in mind for Thursday?

  2. I want to to my long run on Saturday (am) too. I am fine pushing the workout back a day as well. It's best not to be stupid in this heat. Running as it is can be deadly.

  3. Are we still planning on doing the workout on the long run Saturday? We have an 8 mile tempo planned.

  4. I think we should play the workout/run by ear. I would like to do "something" during the Saturday long run.

Also, I might bail on the Thursday workout per work stuff/extreme heat...another reason why I wouldn't mind getting something in on Saturday.

Something can be defined as anything marathon-paced.

  10. I think Saturday is the one day this week we DON'T have to start running by 8AM. The high for the day is *only* in the 80s.

That said, I'm fine with 8 if that's the consensus.
