  1. As a side, can anyone on the team acquire 1500 safety pins for our bibs? My likely won't need ALL 1500, but just in case. This is one of those small things we need and if we don't have it we're SOL.

    I can reimburse you.

  2. Jake, you can buy them at staples down the street.

  3. For those that running Lawyer Have Heart, Press Club, and/or other races this weekend remember to grab two hands full of FREE safety pins for FD8k.

DON’T be shy to go back to grab more hands full of FREE safety pins while you at it…

  4. Hey Frank, the reason the race is being conducted is to support the race team. I know i play around and say off handed things much of time but in this case, I would think about the public relations of your effort. If the effort is to get folks to support your race team in the way of paying for full entry into a race then I would shy away from getting freebies for things like pins. I would have the race pay for the race and all other donations and leftovers be for the benefit of the team, which is the race's beneficiary.

Since this is a unique endeavor in terms of using race proceeds to support a race team, I would shy away from trying to get free entries into other races.

    My two cents, anyway.

You are embarking on new ground so treat it as such.

  6. Max - I am pretty sure Frank was joking. Hence why he capitalized "FREE".

In any case, no one steal pins. I've now got it covered.

  9. We should also have people watch out for bandits like Max. If we are going to ask folks to support us, our primary effort should be making sure they actually pay to run.

  10. that is not accurate since i did not actually get scored or even wear a bib or chip. I did not even eat any of the FREE donuts at the end of the race. In other words I simply jogged the race course with the other runners. this is legal. aren't you a lawyer?
