Beloved GRC ex-pat Dirk de Heer ran about a 1:07:30 in the Tucson Half-Marathon yesterday, good for 2nd overall. Came through mile 10 in 50:25 -- and "easily," he remarked. An 8-second PR for The Dutchman, who hasn't even begun to step up his training.
That's quite legit. Nice job Dirk (if you still read this)!
ReplyDeleteAwesome news!
ReplyDeleteThanks Red Fox, and of course... I follow everyone at GRC (and beyond if you include Benedict Sloane). And let me know if you're up for Mt Sac 10k in April anyone!
ReplyDeleteand p.s. thanks CTR, but I started hurting around mile 9, those last 4 felt very long!
ReplyDeleteIn addition, this was not accomplished at or below sea level.
ReplyDeletebut it was downhill
ReplyDeleteCongratulation Dirk! Tucson Half ran the second half, much easier than the fracking full marathon...
ReplyDeleteI should had look you up at the finished..
