Weekend Results: September 7-8

We had a crew of marathoners at the Montgomery County Road Runners Parks Half this weekend, with many getting in a harder MP paced effort. Josh led the way in 3rd and Austin finished in 5th with a PR.

Kyle placed in 4th in his alumni XC race to tune up for Clarendon and Craig Morgan won the 9-11 Memorial 5k.

Dan Meteer won the Annapolis Ten Miler in the fastest time since 2009. Josh Sutterfield made a very strong GRC debut, finishing 4th and running a negative split on a difficult course.

Charlie won another race at the South Lakes 10K in Reston, VA and Stephanie Berger made her GRC debut winning the NOVA 5K in 18:28.

Charlie Ban won the interestingly named Kickin' Assphault Half Marathon in Great Falls, Montana by close to 17 minutes. Natalie Patterson won another race at the Devil's Den 10 Miler in Culpepper, VA. Sean Barrett and Graham Tribble took 2nd and 3rd at the Leesburg 20K.

Steph and Stewart Reich both ran in the Anchorage RunFest Skinny Raven Half Marathon. Stewart won and Steph placed 4th, and was the 2n overall female. Paul T won his alumni 5k race in 15:55.

Steph wins Frederick Women's Festival 5K

Steph Reich ran her first official race in over a year and cruised for a solo win at the Frederick Women's Festival 5K. She won by nearly two minutes and it's great to have her back.

Our men's crew got some work in at Riley's Rumble, a typically "three H" (hot, humid & hilly) Montgomery County Road Runner's race. Zak, Dix and Charlie finished in 2nd, 5th and 15th respectively.

Lucas races at USATF Outdoor Championships

Lucas qualified for the 10K at the USA National Championships in Des Moines by running 28:57 at the Raleigh Relays 10K earlier this year. At USA's, Lucas finished in 20th overall. The race went out very quick and he came through 1600 in 4:28, which made the rest of the race difficult. But he hung on tough to finish and hopes to be back next year!

Chicago Rock 'N' Roll Half

The Crystal City Twilighter was cancelled because of extreme heat this weekend. Paul Thistle gave the Rock 'N' Roll Half a go in Chicago and finished in 13th overall in 1:14:46

Weekend Results: July 6-7

In local racing, Charlie and Dix went 1-2 in the Capital Crescent 5K in DC. Mark was 3rd at the Firecracker 5K in Reston.

Lucas had an a great showing at the Peachtree 10K in Atlanta, placing 19th in a highly competitive field. His time of 30:21 was 4th on the GRC list. Rob followed up his excellent showing at Grandma's by winning his hometown 5K in Duxbury.

Dix got a solo tempo in and won the Freedom 10 Miler on the towpath in 60:38. Liz T had a nice showing at the Princeton Qualifier in the 1500, finishing in 4:48.52.

Grandma's Marathon Weekend

We had a bunch of strong races at Grandma's in Minnesota. Rob PR'd by over 3 minutes in 1:08:44. Kyle PR'd by over a minute in 1:09:23, and his 10 mile split of 52:20 was also a PR en route. Kerry also ran a strong 1:19:50.

In the full, Trever made a very strong debut in 2:35:41. Pat K had an amazing run of 2:34:25.

Weekend Results: Brooklyn Mile, Charlie wins Oakmont 5K

Gina and Alex both had great races at the Brooklyn Mile to close their season. In the elite women's section, Gina ran 4:53 for 2nd place and Alex finished in 5:08 for 9th.

Charlie won the Oakmont 5K outside of Pittsburgh, PA in 15:49.

Weekend Results: Lawyers Have Heart

GRC took home 2nd place in the Club Challenge at the Lawyer's Have Heart 10K thanks to some strong performances.

Maura Linde finished a real successful season and led the way for the women, finishing 8th in 36:19. Kerry Allen had a big PR of almost a minute in a tune-up for Grandma's half, finishing 9th in 36:54. Erin was 15th in 38:11, and Gina 17th in 38:34.

For the men, Dan Samet led the way, closing his season strong and finishing 13th in 31:49. Paul was 17th in 32:42. Kyle finished 19th in 33:18, and Cabell was 20th in 33:26. Pat K was 30th in 34:06, and was also the top master's finisher. Kyle and Pat were both in tune-up mode for upcoming races at Grandma's.
