EFA is elite, world class tri. I think it is non standard distance, so sort of analogous to Falmouth or Bay to Breakers.

Sharks frequent the SF Bay area regularly. In fact, recent studies have discovered the feared Great White migrates through the waters off the California coast and is known to attack unsuspecting humans, as seen in this highly authentic photo:
