I took a drive around the Mall this afternoon, and I'm posting my assessment for anyone who works/runs downtown.
The paths look okay between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Between the Washington Monument and the Capitol the paths are worthless, but if you stick to the sidewalks along the roads it looks better.
Your mileage may vary, depending on what kind of wintry mix falls from the sky tonight.
