Weekend Runs

SATURDAY
I was planning to hit up the Georgetown Store tomorrow at 9am for a run. I have not run in this area since the blizzard(s) so I am not sure what road conditions are like. Does anyone have a loop/route in mind? I'd prefer to stay OFF snow covered bike paths and trails and would rather hit up neighborhood streets - somewhere where we don't have to contest with cars and bad footing. Thoughts?

SUNDAY
We haven't run at The Line for awhile...so I was thinking we run there on Sunday at 9:30am. Anyone else have any options?

I agree on not wanting to fall or be hit by cars on Saturday, about 10 miles worth of not getting hurt, to be exact. I'm probably in for Sunday, too, about 15 miles or so, but that is less certain.

I will be at the store tomorrow, we could run up McArthur, on the side of the road. There should be room and the road is pretty well groomed

Good idea Chuck.

Dirk - I could maybe do one on Sunday as part of my long run, I need to see how my leg feels tonight/tomorrow though first.

Murphy, Dylan and I are doing a Curling clinic on Saturday afternoon in Beltsville, We need a 4th, so let us know if you're interested. This is the first step to making it to the Olympics in 2014!

Dirk, et al -

at the risk of compromising their workout, a few of the guys from Baltimore are doing a workout on this 10 mile course in Columbia on Saturday.

5x2mi @ Tempo, which might be in the 5:40 realm right now I would guess?

If you're interested holler at Ben, you can link to his blog via TWSS.

I am in for a store run on Saturday and a Sunday long (20mi) run from whereever.

An alternative - we could drive to Edwards Ferry. The canal won't be good, but there are GREAT rolling roads up yonder with little cars.

I could map a 15 mile loop out.

Interested in this instead?

I'm gonna show up to the store at 9 and do whatever everyone else is doing.

I've never been to Edward's Ferry, so my answer is YES. I could go for 15 rolling miles

Here is an 18 mile loop (actually a "B") . We would park at Sycamore Landing Road which is 10-15 mins closer than going to Edwards Ferry. This is the road we usually run down around 40 mins when running Riley's Lock. Those running 15 can simply turn around at mile 12 on the map and then head back to the parked cars. I've always wanted to run this - fairly little traffic and a few rolling hills.

Those running more can maybe loop back left up Mt Nebo loop just before mile 16...though that would be closer to 21 miles.

I'm planning to emerge from my long winter hibernation to do the store run on Saturday.

I ran this loop this morning: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3486243

And it should have melted more today. It was workable, but there were a few places where I had to pick my way over snowbanks. I would run it again.

I won't be at the Saturday run, but I would be game for Ted's Ferry on Sunday.

RM- thanks for the suggestion, does sound great, but unfortunately I'll be un husbandly duty saturday and have to be done by 11 a.m. I'll have to run around on beach drive.
