I usually just roll with whatever workout is proposed on wednesdays but this week I have on my schedule a specific workout that I want to hit. I talked to several of you about this workout... it is a bear of a workout. 6-7 miles alternating between 10 seconds faster than goal half marathon pace and 45 seconds slower than half marathon pace.
Example: Goal is 5:20's for the Half
5:10, 6:05,....repeat for 6-7.
I was orginally planning on doing this on the track but it didn't seem to be a popular venue for this workout.... so I figure running between mile 1 and 2 of the gravel portion of CCT would work well (out and back 3 times).
See you at 6:30 at BCC.

How'd the workout go?
Wiggy was a madman running 31.20 for 6 miles! The 3 fast miles for him were 4.46, 4.46 and 4.34 (slow miles uphill were all around 5.40!).

Incredible
Someone told me last spring, "remember these days, you may never have them again."
Max (the old man) told you that, isn't it?
Max only told him that if Michael Wardian or the shirtless Chuck Moeser had previously said it.
I could not have gotten through the workout without Paul Zwama as well as Charlie, Dirk and Mike encouraging in passing. We have a good thing going here and it is nice that we can feed off one another. We just need to get everyone healthy and on the same page at the same time. A coach could help with this......
No, he didn't. Yes, it's a very simple statement, but there is a lot of meaning behind it. When you're in great shape you often don't realize it since you're trying to get in even better shape. When the dust settles and you've had time to reflect, you can look back and see just how fit you were and how lucky you were.
The same person also told me that when you're in this kind of shape, you should race the gamut (as many distances as possible).
Wow, a 4:34 at the end of 6 hard miles. Just think about that.
gradual downhill though you have to remember... I have actually been thinking long and hard about Chicago... I definitely would like to do a marathon this fall... as planned but I do want to see also what I could do in the 5k, 8k, 10k when fit (like you said)...
