I'm your huckleberry. It is after all, the one year anniversary of our meeting.

Yes. I remember it something like this:

Me: Mr. Dwyer I presume

Dwyer: You must be Klim

Me: Yes...let's run sometime. But right now I have hypothermia.

What is it with you guys and anniversaries? Christiam and Jake celebrated their anniversary last summer at the Go For the Glory track meet. There was even talk of a cake. Edda (Christiam's girlfriend) and I were a little concerned...Anyway, I am really hoping that this will be my first race back, post-Marathon. It depends on my recovery though.

Sorry to post this in the middle of a comments section, but I wasn't sure how to start a new thread.

I was going to say that I'm definitely up for the Veteran's Day race, but I'm not sure if I'll be running then.

I just got back from the podiatrist, and, though my body has been suggesting otherwise lately by reducing the swelling in my foot, I actually have a stress fracture. Needless to say, next time I want to race a half marathon or 10 miler, I'm going to wear flats with a little more substance.

In 8 years of running, this is my first injury, so I'm a little clueless as to what to do.

I know some of you guys live in the northern Rock Creek Park/Silver Spring/Chevy Chase area--do you have any nearby pools that you can recommend? Or other methods of cross training that won't cleave my foot in two?

Thanks for any help--most of you guys are older, faster and wiser, so I figred this might be a good place to seek advice.

I never got an injury until I was 36 so I am not the smartest person about this sort of thing. However, suggest the elipitcal trainer and maybe a concept 2 rowing machine. low impact and good for lower back and other muscle groups not always addressed via running.

Jake,

I'm gradually getting back in shape and count me in for the Veteran's Day. Been busy with cross this fall. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet up with you guys more for some runs.
