Saturday's Run

Can I get a show of hands who might be heading to the run on Saturday morning?

The LHH 10k starts at 8am and it might be nice to start the group run from the LHH finish line so we can cheer on the likes of Jason "The Bearded Lightning" Dwyer and others. We could start the group run from the finish line circa 8:45.

I know a number of folks are heading home/away this weekend to hang out with Dad, so who will be showing up?

PS - I was thinking of Riley's Lock on Sunday. 15 miles at 9:00am. Any interest?

I'm in for Sunday. I bummed a ride from Dylan last time so I'll volunteer to drive/pickup folks in the upper NW area

15 miles is a little long, so I may try and make it for part of Saturday

Allen - you can easily run 13 (or even 11) if you come for the loop. There are a number of "exit options".

My left foot's off a little so I've stopped running. I may come up, bike in tow, try to run and switch off it ain't working.

if you can, bring your camera - it'll be a great place to take some nice action shots of the team in training. Beautiful country up yonder; cornfields, snakes, the majestic Potomac, box turtles, snakes, red fox, snakes, rolling roads and even snakes.

I'll be there. Looking to run a solid 10 to 12. Was running lawyers but choosing to start working on getting my mileage up a little instead.

I am planning on doing 16 miles but will continue on the towpath as an out and back when you guys turn right into the fields. I am not sure if it was the increase in pace or the hard road surface but after the last time I ran this route, I had a "phantom stress fracture" for a few days, due to the pounding.

I'll be there tomorrow morning, and I'm not sure about Sunday yet.

Klim - Are there any snakes in them parts?

Hey! I haven't run with you guys before (I just moved to DC), but I'd like to meet up for the run on Saturday and possibly on Sunday. I just graduated from the University of Rochester, and I'm looking for a group of guys to train with. I've been in touch with Patrick Reaves, but I've never met anyone in the club, so what or who should I be looking for Saturday morning? See you tomorrow morning!

Patrick - Are you racing tomorrow morning or looking to run after the race? In either event try to find any of the guys racing before or right after the event that are wearing blue, gray, while and silver running bibs that say "Running Company" or "Georgetown" on the front. Ask them to direct you to Klim or Jarrin and they should be able to. We should be hanging around somewhere near the finish line at the end of the event. You can find the course map here: http://www.runlhh.org/_assets/pdf/course_10_08K.pdf

See you tomorrow morning.

Patrick - I have red hair and look like an adult version of the kid from "Problem Child". I will likely be bare chested and looking very white.

Oh and Patrick - one more thing: you can only "hang" with us after a valid initiation involving Wilson's goat. We'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

Welcome to DC and the GRC.

OK, I'll try to prepare myself as best I can. I just hope Wilson's goat is different from the goat we used to subject our freshmen to.... I'll be on the lookout tomorrow morning after the race (I'm not racing). I'll probably be shirtless with blue and green shorts, about 5'7" with short brown hair (I know that could be anyone). I'll try to find you guys near the finish.

My knee was sort of tightening up during the last part of the run today, and it's only gotten worse throughout the day despite a lot of ice and stretching. I think I'm going to have to sit out the long run tomorrow, unfortunately. Hopefully this thing is gone by next weekend so I can start running consistently again....
