I MET JASON(PHYCHO)DWYER AND SOMETIMES MIGHTY MUNRO AT THE STORE TODAY AT 7:30AM.
TO START IT OFF, I WOKE UP THIS AM TO THE INTENSE THUD SOUNDS OF HARD RAIN DROPS KNOCKING AGAINST MY WINDOW. I SAID, OOOOH, HOW I LOVE TO RUN IN THE RAIN. I MADE THREE CUPS OF INSTANT COFFEE AND DOWNED A JELLY DONUT, TOO BOOT. I PUT MY STUFF IN MY BACKPACK AND JETTED THE 4 MILES TO THE STORE. I FELT LIKE ONE OF THOSE GUYS I ALWAYS MAKE FUN OF WHO RUN AROUND DC WITH BACKPACKS ON. ANYWAY, I MET THOSE GUYS AT THE STORE AND THE REAL RUNNING COMMENCED.
CLEARLY, JASON HAD THIS RUN PLANNED AS HE HAD A SMIRK ON HIS FACE AS WE PROCEEDED TO SLOSH ON THROUGH ON THIS MUD/WATER INTENSE/RIVER RUN. JASON IS A TRUE WARRIOR! HE AND SCOTT REALLY BEGAN TO PICK UP THE PACE AND I WAS LIKE, MAN, I AM WAY TOO OLD FOR THIS. I SORT OF HOPPED CAUTIOUSLY ALONG AS THEY MOVED LIKE THEY WERE USED TO THIS SORT OF THING.
ANYWAY, THEY DROPPED ME AND THIS WAS FOR THE BEST AS I WAS CONTENT TO JOG AIMLESSLY AROUND THE TRAILS. I SORT OF LOST MY WAY FOR A WHILE BUT EVENTUALLY NAVIGATED MY WAY BACK TO RESERVOIR RD. AND THEN RAN BACK TO THE STORE WHERE WE ALL MORE OR LESS FINISHED AROUND THE SAME TIME.
TOTALLY A GREAT RUN AND AN ADVENTURE THAT MAKES RUNNING WORTH THE PAIN AND SUFFERING.
TOTAL RUN FOR THE DAY WAS 2HRS AND 10 MINUTES INCLUDING THE RUN TO THE STORE AND BACK.
I AM TIRED BUT STRONG.
