Runs From The New Store

We are going to start having runs from the new Store in Chevy Chase (4461 Willard Ave 20815) on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting this coming Tuesday. This should be a lot easier than Georgetown for the people that live in the Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring area. The runs are going to begin at 7 pm because that is when the store closes and I will be the only person around to lead the runs.

The route for the run is still up in the air. I am up for suggestions since I have just been running up and down the major ave's when I run at night.

And if anybody has any night running gear, like reflective vests or head lights, I would reccommend bringing those along for the run.

Here are some routes that the Georgetown Day School track team used to run in this area:

1. Down Willard, take a right onto N. Park Ave, get on the trail that runs behind the tall apartment buildings and leads to the somerset pool. From there you can go through somerset, to the Little Falls trail, to the CCT and then back on river. (4 miles)

2. Down Willard, left on river, right on Western, right on Mass, get on CCT, get off at Dorset, Dorset to Warwick, right on Warwick to the somerset pool trail and back to the store (6 miles)

I might be up for PM runs in a month.

Aside from the lot in the back, is there any other (free/easy) parking?

If you'll be running at night, I'd recommend running along Mass. Avenue, it's a well lit route with rolling hills.

I should be able to make it out to a bunch of these. 7:00 is the ideal running time for me in the evening because of work.

I'm somewhatof familiar with the area--there is a maze of roads through the Chevy Chase neighborhoods that are well lit with some decent hills as well.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Parking in the back at 7 will be tricky, you might to have to wait 5-10 minutes to get a spot. There should be some free parking spots just past the store on Willard that should be open around 7.
