Page's Run on Sunday

My friend/former college teammate coaches at Winston Churchill HS and is putting this race on in an effort to combat Cystic Fibrosis. The prize is pretty good. If anyone is thinking of running the Boston Marathon, this might be a good race to do...

www.pagesrun.com
Roughly half the race proceeds go to the CF foundation for research, the other half go to scholarships to students with CF. The course is fast with a couple of challenging spots. Michael Wardian has the course record in 15:37, on the Womens side the record is held by Anya Oleynik in 18:33. Winner gets airfare and a stay at a nice hotel in Boston. We have tons of door prizes, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, subs, DJ, fun family atmosphere, and a kids race.

Hmm...interesting. I will definitely consider it.

I'll do it.

I'll probably do it but am playing it by ear.

"Fast with a couple of challenging spots" is a bit misleading, but I'll give them the "fun family atmosphere."

Results-
I won in 18:00, about 8 seconds ahead of number 2. I'll have to confirm that I can use the hotel voucher the weekend of the marathon, but I'm Boston-bound!

On the men's side Steve Crane out-kicked someone from North Carolina (15:07?) for the win. Patrick Reaves finished strong for third (15:50?), and Patrick Murphy came in second in his age group (16:30?). Good representation!

We'll put our reports on our blogs.

Apologies--I didn't see your comments. I also posted a few words about the race above with some photos.
