Workout NEXT Weekend

I am doing my Sycamore Landing to Old Anglers Inn run NEXT weekend. My goal is to run this at marathon pace btwn 5:50-5:55. It's 15 miles straight; no stops, no recovery...but it should feel easy, or at least somewhat comfortable. I'll get dropped off there and run straight back.

Last year I did this workout solo and it was a great mental boost. I truly need one of these right now. If anyone is interested in joining, please let me know, but this is NOT a race. It's steady. I can do either Saturday & Sunday...there is slight possibility I'll challenge the kitten-killer Bert at the Scope-it-Out 5k on Sunday, so I'm leaning towards Saturday. If I don't do the 5k (speedwork for Cherry B) I'll make Saturday's run closer to 20 (15 "hard" + 5 w/u & c/d).

TRAINING UPDATE - I've been feeling like "shit run over twice" lately. My knee is okay, but my shins...and now even my feet (!) hurt. I have a feeling this will all pass, but running isn't much fun right now. I hate feeling aches and pains while running, but one needs to keep his eye on the prize. That prize is April.

Let me know about Sycamore...

I am doing ScopeItOut, so I'll join you for this w/o IF it is on Sat.

And I think it should have a warm up of some kind--at least 1 mile to ease into it.

I'm running a 5k on the track that Saturday, so I can run this with you guys if it's on Sunday.

Klim - What's the story with this run? You on for tomorrow - Easter Sunday? Or did you guys run it today?

Robert, THIS run is next weekend -- 3/29 or 3/30; date not set yet. We ran the 22 miler today. Not sure what others are doing tomorrow; I will probably run around Lake Needwood.

Zach, Robert,
AFAIK, there's no run organized for tomorrow, but if you're interested, I'm running 15 tomorrow at 9:20 at the line.
Let me know if you're coming to wait for you.

Christiam - Thanks for clarifying. I'd be down for an easy 10 miler, so I think what you're planning on is to rich for my blood. However, if you feel like dulling it down let me know and I will meet you...otherwise have a great run.

Robert,
I convinced a friend of mine to come along for 10 easy miles, so I'll run 5 on my own and meet him at 10 at The Line... you're welcome to join if you'd like, given how late it is it'll definitely be an easy run.

It looks like I'll be doing this on Saturday.

I ran along Lake Michigan this morning while visiting Chicago during a whirlwind 24 hour tour. NO WIND in the Windy City as I slugged my way along the bike path on Lakeshore Drive.

Dwyer,

I'm racing a 5k Saturday, but I could do this workout on Sunday if you want.

If you want to meet at The Line, I know of a good place to run the workout where the mile splits are a bit more accurate.

Okay, I'll catch you sunday at th line.

Will anyone else be joining Chris and I for this workout on Saturday?

5:50-5:55 for 15 miles. 1 mile 1wu, 4 mile cd.

It's point to point so I want to hammer out the logistics. I was thinking a 10am start...like Boston.
